Dr. Robert T. Howard is a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast reconstruction, plastic and reconstructive microsurgery, aesthetic/cosmetic plastic surgery, and wound healing. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Howard received his undergraduate degree from the United States Naval Academy and his Doctor of Medicine from Bethesda’s Uniformed Services University. Following surgical internship, he studied hyperbaric medicine at the U.S. Navy’s Diving & Salvage Training Center. He completed General Surgery residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, and Plastic Surgery residency at Atlanta’s esteemed Emory University with focus on microsurgical breast reconstruction and limb salvage. While serving our Navy, he was the Chief of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He was also the Plastic Surgery Consultant for the White House. With his vast experience in oncologic breast reconstruction, limb restoration, and regenerative medicine, Dr. Howard joined the teaching faculty at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital after leaving the Navy. Now, returning to Anne Arundel County, he sees the transformative power in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
